New Manuka Honey Regulations
In February 2018 the Ministry of Primary Industries (MPI) from New Zealand Government issued new regulations for Manuka Honey grading and production. Wedderspoon KF16 is the FIRST & CURRENTLY the ONLY ‘to label’ Manuka Honey to fully comply with the new regulations. These new regulations will become the Industry Standard for Manuka Honey.

To determine the difference between Wedderspoon KFactor 12 and KFactor 16 Manuka honeys, they measure distinct concentrations of Manuka pollen.
The origin of Wedderspoon’s Raw KFactor Manuka Honey is from the remote pristine areas of New Zealand’s South Island. To make sure that only the best quality honey reaches our customers the product is tested in various ways to differentiate our potency level. Each batch of Wedderspoon Manuka Honey KFactor 16 is sourced and tested for its higher pollen count, live enzymes, antioxidants and various other phytochemical components.

Being aware of the wide spread colony collapse disorder crisis, our bee keepers use sustainable and labour intensive bee keeping practices to promote healthy bee hives and to increase and maintain the bee population. Every batch of honey is tested for pollen purity and is traceable back to the hive, which guarantees the consistency of all Wedderspoon products.
All our artisanal unpasteurised honeys are RAW meaning that they have not been heated over 42 degrees Celsius, the average temperature of the inside of a working bee hive. Raw honey is important, as this ensures that the natural enzymes, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals and activity present in raw honey remains unaltered, intact and are not destroyed during packaging. All our honeys are tested to ensure they never contain chemical residues and antibiotics.
