Here is a simple recipe for making smoked tofu:

Ingredients:

  • 1 medium-sized block of tofu
  • 3 tablespoons of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon of ground hot pepper
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup

Instructions:

  1. Start by cutting the tofu into thin slices or cubes.

  2. Mix soy sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, onion powder, ground hot pepper, smoked paprika, and maple syrup in a small bowl until all ingredients are well mixed.

  3. Place the sliced tofu in a bowl and pour the sauce mixture over it. Make sure the tofu is well coated with the sauce.

  4. Let the tofu marinate in the sauce for at least 30 minutes, or longer if you want a stronger taste.

  5. Preheat the oven to 200 degrees Celsius.

  6. Place the marinated tofu on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.

  7. Bake the tofu in the oven for about 20-25 minutes or until lightly browned and crispy on the surface.

  8. Remove the tofu from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving.

Smoked tofu can be used as a topping for salads, sandwiches or pasta, or it can be served as a delicious appetizer.
