Seitan-wheat protein 

 Seitan is a 100% vegan product with a high protein content. After preparation, it has a meat-like structure, so it can be used as a replacement in all popular meat dishes, i.e. hamburger, steak, stew, chops, etc. can be fried, stove, stew and grill completely like meat. His taste depends on the spices you will add. 

A method of preparing: Seitan will prepare in 3 simple steps: 

  1. The bowl pour a glass of water and pour the whole seine powder from the bag. Mix (preferably fork) so that no pellets are formed until the dough absorbs all water. 
  2. In a pot of medium-sized, boil 1.5 liters of water, add a pinch of salt. Ready cake Divide and cut into pieces of walnuts, each piece slightly flattened.

Ideas for a marinade: 

Marinade with red wine 

Ingredients: 

100 ml of red wine 

100 ml soy sauce (must be equal to the red wine ratio) 

3.5 tablespoons of olive oil 

3 tablespoons of water 

Spices to the taste: Cayenne pepper, garlic, peppers on hot, salt. 

Lemon-mustard marinade 

2 tablespoons of lemon juice 

2 tablespoons of Mustard Dijon 

1 tablespoon of maple syrup or agave 

? a teaspoon of black pepper 

Sriracha marinade 

2 tablespoons of Sriracha spices 

1 tablespoon of soy sauce 

1 tablespoon of agave or maple syrup 

Balsamic marinade 

2 tablespoons of olive oil 

2 tablespoons of balsamic vinegar 

½ teaspoon of powdered garlic 

Thai peanut marinade 

3 tablespoons of peanut butter 

1½ tablespoons of soy sauce 

1½ tablespoons of lime juice 

2 teaspoons of agave 

½ teaspoon of powdered garlic 

½ teaspoon of powdered ginger 

Coconut marinade and curry 

½ cup of full-fat coconut milk 

2 tablespoons of soy sauce 

2 teaspoons Curry powder 

A method of preparing: 

Mix all ingredients with each other and marinate in it the seitan.

The most common questions: 

Is Seitan healthy? 

Yes, Seitan is very healthy. It is a very good source of protein and works great in a vegan or vegetarian diet. In addition, it is low-calorie. It is also excellent for people who do not consume soy products, but are looking for vegan alternatives to meat. 

However, if you have hypersensitivity to gluten or intolerance of gluten, you should avoid Seitana. 

Can Seitana frost? 

Yes, you can freeze Seitana for up to three months. It can also be stored in a refrigerator in a hermetic container for up to 5 days. 

How long should I marinate Seitana? 

Marinate it for a minimum of 15 minutes.

How to use seitan?

Preparation: Pour a glass of water into a bowl and add all the seitan powder from the bag. Stir (preferably with a fork) to avoid lumps until the dough has absorbed all the water.

In a medium-sized pot, bring 1.5 liters of water to a boil, add a pinch of salt. Divide the finished dough and cut into pieces the size of a walnut, flattening each piece slightly with your hand.

Put into boiling water and cook covered over low heat for about 30 minutes.
