NATURES AID SERRAPEPTASE 80,000IU
High potency and vegan friendly enzyme, with a protective coating to ensure safe passage to the instestine.
Serrapeptase is also known as the silkworm enzyme and is naturally produced by a bacterium that forms part of the silkworm microbiome. The Serrapeptase enzyme is used by the silkworm to dissolve its protective cocoon, without harming the delicate emerging silk moth. The Serrapeptase enzyme was discovered in the early 1970’s and is now produced commercially through a vegan friendly fermentation process, ensuring that the silkworm population is not affected.
Serrapeptase is easily destroyed by the stomach acid of our digestive system and therefore requires a protective coating to prevent the enzyme from being denatured. At Natures Aid, we have developed our own unique Entero-coated® technology to produce tablets that are resistant to this acidic environment, allowing the Serrapeptase enzyme to pass into the intestine, before being released and absorbed into the blood stream.
Each of our Serrapeptase 80,000iu enteric coated tablets provides 80,000u of enzymatic activity and are free from lactose and gluten and are also suitable for those following a vegan diet.
